Salter Medium

Salter by D. Rakowski and Columbia University, is a free 3D display font with the chunky swagger of hand-drawn sign lettering. The letters lean on broad, blocky forms and long angled extrusions, while striped side shading gives the whole font a lively, posterish sense of depth rather than a cold geometric finish.

It works well anywhere a headline needs built-in dimension: magazine covers, event posters, title cards, record sleeves, and bold packaging. As a free font, Salter Medium is especially useful for short words, initials, and punchy cover lines, where those deep slanted shadows can do the visual heavy lifting without extra effects.
