Escape Artist Shadow, designed by Robin Nicholas and Patricia Saunders of the Monotype Type Drawing Office, is a free futuristic outline display font with a clean, engineered silhouette. Its squared curves, clipped joins, and fine doubled strokes give the capitals the look of technical lettering traced with an offset shadow.

As interface lettering, it can become part of the machinery. The same precise geometry suits science-fiction posters, electronic album covers, and tech packaging, especially when a product or entertainment brand wants lettering that doubles as its own compact schematic emblem.

Contemporary sans serif design, Alien League contains more humanist characteristics than many of its predecessors and as such is more in tune with the mood of the last decades of the twentieth century. The overall treatment of curves is softer and fuller than in most industrial style sans serif faces. Terminal strokes are cut on the diagonal which helps to give the face a less mechanical appearance.
